David Chin
Biography
David Chin received his Bachelor of Music as a piano major and voice minor with special studies in conducting from the University of Ottawa. As a conductor, he won the University of Ottawa Concerto Competition. He went on to study conducting with the world-renowned Morihiro Aukabe from Tokyo.

For 20 years, David directed Coro Vivo Ottawa in repertoire ranging from folk songs, spirituals, madrigals and motets to the choral-orchestral masterworks of Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms.
During this period, David directed numerous other groups,
including the Kanata Symphony, the Ottawa Brahms Choir, and the Goulbourn Jubilee Singers. Since January 2000, Mr. Chin has been the Minister of Music at Trinity Presbyterian Church where he is the pianist and the director of all vocal groups, the praise band and the Trinity Hilltop Ringers.
Throughout this time, David has remained a dedicated teacher, teaching all levels of piano, as well as teaching theory, ear training, history, and harmony.
