David is a member of the Handbell Directors' Round Table of Eastern Ontario (HDRT). The HDRT is dedicated to supporting and enabling handbell directors across the region. With the assistance of HDRT's chair, Lynn Boothroyd, David teaches "Theory and Technique for Directors," a course specifically designed to enable directors to lead their choirs with confidence. In this  course, David teaches theory, interpretation, and conducting technique, while Lynn teaches handbell technique. All classes are hands-on. Participants are taught through exercises and a practical piece by piece approach in which each piece becomes a study of all aspects of direction.
